FAQ's

What panel sizes are possible? Generally any size is possible. However, there are limitations due to transportation and handling restrictions. We recommend not to exceed 6'-0" in width and 8'-0" in height. On some projects we did provide panels as large as 7'6" width and 12'-0" in height. Handling for shipping in installation is possible but costly and the risk panel damage is higher. That is why we generally do not recommend the design of such oversized panels. What are the panel weights? Please see the Grigliato Panel Type Chart in the download center. How should panels be attached to the building? There are many different ways to design a screen or facade system. the two most practiced designs are to a) attach the panels directly onto concrete or steel columns by using L-shaped brackets or b) attaching the panels into a subframe made of 2"x2" steel tube or any other suitable materials. The panels itself should be attach with our standard panel/post/spacer attachment detail. (See download center). We recommend that you consult with our engineering department for more information about screen and facade systems. What support structure is needed? Depending of the site conditions the panels can be attached directly onto the building or into a subframe. Please see above question or consult with our engineering department. (1-800-708-2526) Who is providing the support structure and frames? It depends. Lighter subframes such as 2"x2" tube steel frames are usually provided by us with the panels. Heavier Facade systems such as large I-Beam frames should be provided by a local steel contractor.
